Each circuit operates independently and delivers 1,2A constant current. For commissionning-activating new MF batteries, we strongly recommend the use of one of our OptiMate PRO 4 models, as these feature a dedicated, higher voltage MF program. Nonetheless, the OptiMate PRO 8-S can be used for recharging & maintaining such batteries."

Perfect for all types of rechargeable 12V lead-acid batteries: filler cap types, fully sealed, "MF" motorcycle batteries, and valve regulated (VRLA) and gel start &
Deep Cycle (DC) batteries. Separate charging programs for Engine Start (STD & MF) and Deep Cycle(DC) batteries. Select the right program by way of four lever switches each controlling the selection for two adjacent stations.

Diagnoses: deep discharge and light sulphation (as low as 2V) and 100% automatically starts a unique recovery treatment to recover many neglected batteries. Perfectly charges up to eight different batteries simultaneously.

Tests: for shorted cell and battery capacity defects. A self-discharge check will diagnose if the battery is able to crank the engine – checks if battery voltage at rest maintains above 12V during the test. For a more complete test including the cranking current that the battery is still able to deliver (CCA), we recommend the use of our resistive tester TestMate (2-30Ah batteries) or one of our BatteryMate-models (integrated chargers-load testers for 2-45Ah batteries).

Maintains: Provided the battery has passed the voltage retention test, it will be offered a limited amount of current, actually just what it takes so that it won’t self-discharge. Therefore, it is perfectly safe to leave a battery in maintenance mode for indefinite periods of time, even during months or years! This feature is quite interesting, e.g. for battery dealers, which can activate 8 of their top selling references and keep them ready for their – sometimes hurried – customers. Another popular application is the charge & maintenance of batteries during the winter storage of pleasure boats, motorcycles, etc…

Delivered with 8 detachable & replaceable 2m / 6 ½ ft output leads with battery clamps, nickelised steel custom wall-mounting bracket (optional), power lead, instructions in 6 languages. New detachable output leads can be disconnected and stored when not in use.

Protection: Reverse polarity connection or short circuiting of clamps automatically resets the charging program. Internal fuses protect individual circuits with an accessible mains input fuse providing further protection.

Multi input voltage range (100 / 115/ 230V) allows use in most parts of the world. 2-year limited warranty.
